Ask anyone who volunteers and they will tell you that it is not only fulfilling, it is great fun as well. Volunteers are vital members of the Yorkhill Children's Foundation team. They give their commitment, time and energy on a regular basis, allowing us to keep our costs to a minimum, develop our fundraising and ultimately increase the contribution we make to the excellent care provided at Yorkhill.
If you are looking to fill some hours and enjoy meeting people, then volunteering could be for you!

The Tea Bar is situated in the hospital's busy main reception area and is open from 10am to 4pm each weekday. This is run entirely by volunteers, who choose either a morning or afternoon shift.
Our office team is small and assistance is required on both a regular and an occasional basis for daily tasks such as counting collection cans, writing thank-you letters and helping with large mailings.
This is situated in the main reception area and volunteers are needed to cover either a morning or afternoon shift, working in teams of two.
You can help raise awareness and money by visiting groups and organisations in your area and giving a presentation about the work of Yorkhill Children's Foundation. Full training will be provided, along with all materials. Similarly, if you are a member of any group or association and would like to invite one of our speakers to your meeting, please contact us to arrange a suitable time.
Over £30,000 was raised last year through the hundreds of collection cans we have in shops, bars, garages, and cafes. We rely on volunteers to deliver and uplift these and bring them back to the hospital. If a day driving around and meeting new people appeals, then this could be the role for you!
By taking part in an event or organising one of your own, shaking a bucket at one of our events, setting up a fundraising group... will help us achieve our very important goals.
If you are interested in volunteering with MediCinema, please contact Sheila on 0141 201 0021.
