Sick children in hospital can often be scared, lonely and confused and, at times like these, they need a “Friend”. By pledging a monthly gift to the Foundation, you can help sick children and babies from all over Scotland and beyond.

• Over £51,000 of funding towards visits from the Clown Doctors since 2003. The specially trained Clown Doctors encourage communication, interaction and laughter and put smiles on the faces of children

• £95,000 to fund a brand new Ear Nose and Throat Diagnostic Suite with highly specialised equipment. This will ensure the best care possible for children with ENT conditions ranging from breathing and feeding issues to difficulties with hearing or balance, ensuring there is a dedicated facility with specialist equipment and layout.

• £140,000 towards two Cardiac Ultrasound machines; vital tools in the evaluation and treatment of all children in Scotland with suspected or confirmed cardiac abnormalities. £149,000 towards funding a 3-D Intra-Operative Echocardiography (ECHO) machine allowing surgeons to provide optimal repair of congenital heart defects and improves the outcomes for infants and children undergoing cardiac surgery.

• £275,000 towards the building of MediCinema at Yorkhill, the first cinema to be built in a children’s hospital in the UK. Since then an additional £200,000 has been raised by our supporters to fund the running costs of this amazing resource. 

• With over 157,000 children attending Yorkhill Hospital each year, we need your help more than ever to provide these vital initiatives and continue to make a real difference to the sick children who come to Yorkhill Hospital for treatment.
