The sixth annual Yorkhill Dinner takes place on Friday 2nd November 2012 - for the first time at the five-star Glasgow Hilton Hotel. It will be attended by over 500 guests and promises to be a fabulous evening of delicious food, unforgettable entertainment, guest speakers and money-can’t-buy prizes. The event provides an excellent opportunity for companies to entertain clients, staff and friends whilst raising much needed funds for the sick children at Yorkhill Hospital.
Past speakers at the sporting-themed Dinner have included the BBC's Chris Hollins, Paralympic Athlete Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, Golfer Peter Alliss, Snooker Great Dennis Taylor and Rugby Player Martin Bayfield.
2011's Yorkhill Dinner was our best yet, selling out a full four months before the event and smashing our income target. The money raised went towards the purchase a state-of-the-art microscope for the new paediatric neurosurgery service at Yorkhill Hospital. The world class neurosurgical microscope will be used by highly skilled specialist surgeons who will operate on 200 children every year, treating sometimes life-threatening conditions of the brain and spine, as well as craniofacial abnormalities – including tumours, injuries and malformations. Designed to deliver highly magnified and illuminated images of children’s delicate brains and spinal cords, the microscope helps to minimises the chance of damage during surgery.
